Massage Therapy
Life can be busy and stressful, especially in the time of the pandemic. Stress can have a physical manifestation which could lead to other dysfunctions and injuries. Massage has been shown to help relief stress, in addition to its many benefits. There are many mechanisms whereby massage produces beneficial effects. Increased blood flow is one mechanism that has been suggested, but evidence shows the effect on blood flow is not significant. Some evidence points towards chemical changes in the area targeted by the massage and much of the pain relief is the result of the release of feel-good chemicals.
Massage therapy can help with:
-
Reducing stress and anxiety
-
Chronic pain management
-
Headaches and neck pain
